In 1959, the city council created a promotion called “Alexandria Days”—a collaboration between the city and Old Town merchants designed to encourage shopping in downtown Alexandria during the hot summer months. Since we now have the amazing Sidewalk Sale tradition, we brought the event back to life last fall!
This year, Alexandria Days will be September 18-20! Here’s how to join the fun. Grab a passport online or at a participating shop. Then, spend a gorgeous fall day in Old Town exploring boutiques and shops while you collect stamps and gifts with purchase, and check out in-store experiences at each stop.
