Let’s Get (Super) Chunky: Malabrigo Caracol & Rasta

Let’s Get (Super) Chunky: Malabrigo Caracol & Rasta

Just in from Uruguay’s Malabrigo Yarn, we’e got two big beautiful yarns to fill your Fall with color—meet Caracol and Rasta!

Joining Rios, Arroyo, Torzal, and Sock in our Alexandria shop, these stunning super-bulky weight yarns are spun from soft Uruguayan Merino wool, then dyed in Malabrigo’s signature kettle-dyed colorways, perfect for the cuddliest (and quickest!) cool weather projects.

Let’s take a look at these new arrivals (along with some pattern ideas, of course)!

Caracol

Inspired by hand-spun yarns, Caracol starts with a bulky thick-and-thin single ply of Malabrigo’s delightfully soft machine-washable Merino wool, criss-crossed with a black binder thread that gives the dyed yarn a gorgeous stained-glass effect. Perfect for winter accessories and snuggly blankets, Caracol works up into cozy, fluffy fabrics with a ton of texture and visual interest—simple stitch patterns really let it sing!
