Just in for Fall, we’ve got two super soft and super-sized Loopy Mango favorites for you: Merino No. 5 and Mohair So Soft.

These cozy yarns are perfect for instant crafting gratification—just right for stitching up this season’s chunky sweater styles! But these epic yarns are more than just the latest trend—Loopy Mango’s gorgeous colors and high-quality natural fibers will have you making projects you’ll want to wear for years to come. Let’s take a look!

Merino No. 5

© fibre space

Loopy Mango’s signature super bulky yarn, Merino No. 5 is the ultimate for quick, satisfying projects. Incredibly soft, bouncy, and thick, Merino No. 5’s plush single ply of extra fine Merino wool is wrapped with a matching binder thread that gently holds the fibres together to add durability and reduce pilling.

To make the most of this super-sized yarn, Loopy Mango suggests needle or hook sizes from US#15 (P/Q) to US#50 (T/U/X):

  • US#15 (10mm) creates a dense, structured, and cozy stitch ideal for warm beanies, structured headbands, and winter accessories.
  • US#19 (15mm) serves as the classic sweet spot to bring chunky sweaters, cardigans, and plush blankets to life.
  • US#36 (20mm) to US#50 (25mm) produces an ultra-lofty, open stitch with a beautiful drape, perfect for dramatic, airy statement scarves, shawls or oversized throw blankets.

Yarn Details

  • Super bulky weight
  • 100% Merino wool
  • 74 yards (68 meters) per 150-gram ball
  • US #15-50 (10–25 mm) needles or P/Q-T/U/X (10–25 mm) crochet hook

Mohair So Soft

Super bulky Mohair So Soft combines the exquisite, airy halo of superfine kid mohair with the cozy structure of soft Merino wool, delivering maximum volume and warmth while remaining weightless on your needles and beautifully light on your body.

For working with this amazingly soft and fluffy yarn, Loopy Mango recommends needle and hook sizes from US#13 (M/N-13) to US#19 (P/Q):

  • US 13 (9mm) creates a plush, dense, and structured knit, excellent for extra-warm winter beanies and accessories.
  • US 15 (10mm) to US 17 (12mm) offers the perfect everyday gauge for cozy sweaters, cardigans, and vests.
  • US 19 (15mm) produces an ultra-lofty, open stitch with a dramatic, airy drape, ideal for oversized sweaters, cardigans, and wraps.

Yarn Details

  • Super bulky weight
  • 53% extra fine Merino wool, 47% super kid mohair
  • 65 yards (59 meters) per 50-gram ball
  • US #13-19 (9–15 mm) needles or M/N-13-P/Q (9–15 mm) crochet hook
