We are big fans of American-made here at the shop and go out of our way to find yarns that are dyed, milled, or come from sheep raised in the U.S. One of our favorites is Imperial Stock Ranch, an Oregon-based ranch that raises Columbia sheep, mills the wool into a variety of yarn weights and textures, and then dyes in colors chosen to reflect the Oregon landscape of the ranch. Established in 1871, Imperial Stock Ranch epitomizes American-grown through sustainable farming practices designed to preserve and replenish the land and support local economy.

While we’ve carried Imperial Stock Ranch for a while now, I am super excited to announce a couple new additions to the shop: Erin and Tracie Too. Both yarns are 100% Columbia wool and worsted spun, making for a soft and squishy yarn that is perfect for sweaters and accessories.

With 225 yards in each skein, Erin is a worsted weight that will be the perfect staple for all your fall and winter knits while Tracie Too is a sport weight with a very generous 395 yards. Both are $21 a skein and I for one can’t wait to start knitting with both!

Erin
We’ve know for a long time how special Imperial Stock Ranch was but it wasn’t until the Sochi Olympics that the Ranch’s yarns became a household name. When designing this year’s Team U.S.A. uniforms for the opening ceremonies, Ralph Lauren decided to source all materials from the U.S. He partnered with Imperial Stock Ranch, choosing Erin as the perfect yarn for the sweater. That’s right, folks! Choose a couple skeins of Erin and you can make your own Olympic-quality sweater!
