I have a weakness

I have a weakness

And it is purses. I suppose that it would be healthier and less expensive to have a weakness for yarn. I have that weakness too. But my handbag problem is more expensive. I have had to limit myself to one per season. Many of you know that my current obsession is with Orla Kiely. Given that I can’t buy adorable clothes right now, I thought I would treat myself to a purse instead. No, it will not fit diapers or cloths or whatever other random things I will have to tote around in just a few months…but it is lovely.

orlamabel

Meet Mabel. She is the newest member of my Orla family. And I LOVE her. So much so that now I am plotting knitting accessories to wear with her. Is that insane? Since Mabel is so much about color, the accessory color is really important.  Here were some ideas that I had:

In the end, I am most intrigued by the last one, where I can have a silver / gray gradation in this amazing silk and merino blend.  Here is what I came up with for patterns:

Pointus by Elizabeth Brassard

Snake Skin by Ashley Solley (ok, maybe this is taking my chevron obsession too far)

And if I had only looked in my own queue, I would have found this one:
