Happy #WIPwednesday! Let’s round up the yarnistas and see what they’re stitching this week!
This just in: our annual delivery of De Rerum Natura Antigone for 2026! This yarn is available to us once a year, and now is the time!
We can’t repeat this enough—if you’re a linen fan, you do NOT want to miss out on this gorgeous 100% ecological yarn from France. (And if you’re not a linen fan yet, this is the yarn that may change your mind!) Lightweight, breathable, and delightfully fresh feeling, Antigone is spun from flax grown in Normandy using ancient cultivation practices aimed at preserving the soil and producing high quality fibre without chemicals. Antigone’s 10-strand twist of combed, wet-spun linen forms a smooth, silky sport weight yarn with beautiful natural drape.
We love Antigone for light sweaters, summery tops, lacy cardigans to wear with our favorite tees and sundresses, and even crocheted shopping bags and totes! (Did we mention it comes in gorgeous colors and is machine washable too?)
The Cherry Blossoms in the Tidal Basin are blooming, and we’ve got new Whirls from Lemonwood along with a fresh shipment of Cherry Blossoms mini minders! These tools go together almost as well as cherry blossoms and the DMV, to keep your yarn spinning snag-free on your wrist or on your table. Grab one today in space or online!
We’re delighted to welcome back Spun Right Round’s Merino Aran and Tough Sock to the shop, each spun from soft, squishy, machine washable Merino wool sourced from South American farms. We love them for combining with our favorite solid shades, carried along with a mohair yarn, or on their own for fun accessories. Dyer and illustrator Renée Hahnel of Spun Right Round has been hand dyeing yarns out of her Rochester, NY studio since 2009, specializing in speckled colorways with vibrant and unexpected color combinations.
Each “rare and playful” colorway is dyed in small batches by Renée herself, so each skein is a uniquely concocted work of art!
As stitchers we’re all constantly learning new things – new stitches, techniques, terms, ways to make things… Here’s a few pieces of knowledge the Yarnistas have picked up recently! What have you been learning lately? Drop it in the comments below to inspire your fellow stitchers.
Happy #ScholarlySunday! We are loving the variety of patterns in Amirisu Assemblage Vol. 1 for the chillier parts of Spring. These patterns have fun textures, lace, and colors to add some fun!
