Wooldreamers Saona: New Colors, New Inspiration

Wooldreamers Saona: New Colors, New Inspiration

Spanish yarnmakers WoolDreamers are a truly special company. Based in the rural community of Mota del Cuervo, their mission is to raise awareness about Spanish wool, supporting small ranchers and carrying on their local heritage of textile production with beautiful, sustainable yarns. From shearing to scouring, spinning, and dyeing, founder Ramón Cobo and the WoolDreamers team oversee every step of the process from sheep to skein.

One of our favorite WoolDreamers yarns for our changeable DMV weather is Saona, a lofty woolen-spun blend of Spanish Merino and Manchega wool combined with Andalusian cotton. Wool-specific dyes give Saona a softly heathered look, with speckles of undyed cotton peeking out through the yarn’s 2-ply twist.
