Meet WoolDreamers La Rinconada!

Based in Mota del Cuervo, Spain, the origins of WoolDreamers date back over 100 years ago, when the Cabo family first began spinning wool sourced from local farms to weave blankets and rugs. Company founder Ramon Cabo started working in the family’s mill at the age of 14, learning every aspect of the wool business from grading and processing fiber to keeping the spinning machines running. Ramon started WoolDreamers in 2020 with the mission of raising awareness about Spanish wool, supporting small ranchers and carrying on the rich tradition of local textile production by creating beautiful, sustainable yarns for knitters and crocheters. WoolDreamers oversees every step of their yarns from selecting the flock and shearing to spinning, dyeing, and finishing, ensuring each skein is completely traceable from the farm all the way to your fingers.

A rustic yarn that is hearty yet supple, WoolDreamers La Rinconada is spun with ecological wool from the flocks of rancher María Pía Sanchez, whose rare white and black Spanish Merino sheep spring from a heritage reaching back centuries. Transhumance grazing (moving livestock to different areas based on seasons), reforestation, organic farming practices and careful land conservation help to preserve the unique regional ecosystem of the dehesa habitat on which her sheep are raised.

Both white and black wool from the flock are blended into a bouncy 3-ply yarn in a gradient of gray shades, then dyed with eco-friendly dyes into a gorgeous palette of 21 colors, perfect for snuggly sweaters and cozy accessories.
