Must Make Monday: Colette Tee

Must Make Monday: Colette Tee

This rainy March weekend had the Yarnistas searching for some knitspiration. For anyone who has spent any amount of time in the DMV, once it warms up it seems to linger – often not really cooling down well into the late fall. For sweater knitters like me, this can cause a bit of a conundrum – I want to fill my wardrobe with cute handmade knits, but I also want to actually be able to wear them. As the weather continues to warm, I find myself pulled towards our non-wool yarns, like Knitting for Olive’s Pure Silk, which lead me to the delightfully versatile Collette Tee by Sari Nordlund.

Colette has a boxy and slightly oversized silhouette that is on trend – perfect for dressing up with work slacks, pairing with a skirt for brunch, or pairing with your favorite jeans for weekend errands. The combination of lace and cables give it a classic look that’s sure to keep it in your wardrobe rotation for years to come. Knit top-down in a DK gauge (which I’m planning to accomplish by holding two strands of the KFO silk together), both sweater length and sleeves are easily customizable to suit your preferences. Leave it as a cropped t-shirt, or add full sleeves!
