Danielle made the trek up to New York Sheep and Wool this year, and in the grand tradition of Rhinebeck she knit herself a long-desired sweater. After falling in love with the texture and pops of color in it’s mosaic design, Danielle decided to knit up Pressed Flowers by Amy Christoffers. In a combination of Spincycle Dyed in the Wool for the flowers and WoolDreamers Dehesa de Barrera Fingering for the main color (WoolDreamers Cautiva would also be a lovely choice!), Danielle’s cardigan gives cozy fall vibes that hit perfectly in the cool weather of upstate New York.
The yarnistas love using Spincycle for a splash of color joy, as the long color repeats make every knit as unique as the knitter who makes it. And Ulysse by de Rerum Natura is one of the best, soft, squishy, workhorse sport shape yarns that fibre space carries. The mosaic design of the flowers is a meditative approach to color work, creating the patterned flowers through slipped stitches and only working one color at a time. We think this cardigan – in any color combination – would make a delightful and whimsical addition to your hand knit collection.
