Join us for the 17th Annual Alexandria Sidewalk Sale on Friday, August 14, through Sunday, August 16. We’ll be joining our fellow local boutiques to celebrate the summer with special deals up and down the brick sidewalks of Old Town. Here at fibre space, we’ll feature 10% off entire shop, and even deeper discounts (up to 50% off) on select yarns, notions and books, to clear room for fall inventory!
Shortly after Danielle opened fibre space, fellow retailers created this event to help boost sales and move end-of-season inventory during the slow summer sales months. At the time, they had to navigate a special events permit process to allow each individual shop to display merchandise on the sidewalks. There have been big changes with the city that have made this event logistically easier to pull off, and it is now one of the best weekends to be in Old Town!
Fun fact: Did you know that the Alexandria Sidewalk Sale is one of the longest-running retail events in the entire DMV, and is still entirely organized by volunteers in our own retailer community? (You guessed it, Danielle is still one of those volunteers.)
