Noro Uchiwa うちわ (pronounced: Ujiwa) means leaf-shaped fan or leaf fan and literally translates to “repelling mosquitoes with a leaf fan”. In the hot Japanese summers, uchiwa fans are essential to quickly and easily fan yourself with some refreshing air.  Uchiwa knits up as a gorgeous tweed with subtle color changes that blend seamlessly from one to the next. This wool free yarn is a wonderful option for spring and summer items as well as tweedy winter garments for the wool free folks in your life.
