Miss Babs Damask – Hand-dyed silk and linen yarn

Miss Babs Damask – Hand-dyed silk and linen yarn

The warmer weather is here, and with it comes an exciting new yarn from the incredible Miss Babs. For those of you that have been looking for a hand-dyed wool-free yarn, you’re going to swoon over Damask!

Damask is a flowing, lightweight blend of silk and linen, perfect for summer tops and accessories. The silk is sleek and smooth, punctuated by the less uniform linen fibers. The yarn has a 4-ply construction to create a balanced fabric. Like all yarns with this fiber content, Damask has very little memory or bounce, but excellent drape.

Damask has a slightly heathered appearance, as the dyes are only taken up by the silk, not the linen. This brings the lovely depth of color found in hand dyed yarns to this wool-free option!

The yarnistas are excited to cast on flowy summer tops and soft, lightweight shawls!

Yarn Details:

  • Fingering weight
  • 65% cultivated silk, 35% bleached linen
  • 420 yards / 100g
  • 7-8 stitches per inch knit on US 1-3, 6-8 stitches per inch crocheted on US B-E
  • Hand wash, dry flat

We are currently hosting a trunk show of these garments and accessories at the shop!
