Hailing from Central Finland, Johanna’s previous work in mathematics shows through in her precise, elegant patterns featured as yokes, sleeve details, and hems. Strands of Joy features seamless top-down colorwork sweaters and cozy accessories to keep you warm all winter long. The book contains 20 patterns including sweaters, cardigans, a dress, a hat, and a child’s pullover. All of Johanna’s patterns are size inclusive, with garments sized XXS–5XL and many styles are not gender specific.
From Laine:
Anna Johanna is a knitwear designer from Muurame, Central Finland. She is known for her often-romantic knits with much love for details, textures and colours. Since 2020, this former statistician has been designing full-time. Strands of Joy (Finnish title Onnensäikeitä) is her debut book.
These fresh styles pair heritage with a contemporary twist to create treasured knits you will reach for again and again. Strands of Joy includes styles such as the Everything’s Coming Up Roses sweater include a romantic rose colorwork seamlessly worked from the top and down and the Woodland cardigan, a mega-comfy oversized cardigan with wooldand colorwork designs at the hem which includes directions for bust shaping or for a more boxy look. While temps in Finland provide for year-long sweater weather, take advantage of this season to show off some amazing new knits!
