This week we are highlighting the new yarn by Karida Collins of Neighborhood Fiber Co and designer Ann Weaver. North Ave is a 100% wool, two-ply, woolen spun, fingering weight yarn, spun at Harrisville and hand-dyed in Baltimore. The result is a gorgeous marled yarn made from intense and vibrant colors.

Yarn details:

  • 100% non-superwash wool
  • 2-ply woolen spun; fingering weight
  • 215 yd/197 m per 1.75 oz/50 g skein
  • $28

A top project picks:

Exploration Station

This design by Stephen West features stripes and brioche and lace for a stunning finished piece. Barry recently finished up this project in Plied Yarns North Ave, and it is stunning! If you don’t have the skills to make this on your own, check out this class with Barry on Wednesday, January 8th. Students should have previous experience with brioche, increasing and decreasing.

Granito

This pullover by Joji Locatelli with pockets is simple but fun to knit and is the perfect project to show off the beautiful marled features of North Ave. I have this one on needles right now and am loving it!
