We’re proud to partner with Project Knitwell and Friends of Guest house to support their new program to provide knitting instruction to formerly incarcerated women residing at Guest House in an effort to promote wellness, comfort, and community through the knitting craft. Project Knitwell volunteers began the knitting circle already and have received a great response from participants.
Project Knitwell is a nonprofit 501(c)(3) organization that offers knitting as a wellness tool to people facing stressful situations. We began partnering with Project Knittwell in 2014 and provided hats for NICU babies right here in Northern Virginia and needles, yarn, and books to parents and nurses to help relieve stress and provide comfort. We’re excited to be a part of this program that extends the comfort and delight of knitting to women in a period of stressful transition.
