Welcome, Manos del Uruguay Serpentina! This wonderful yarn is truly one-of-a-kind and will add a special touch to all of your finished objects.
Meaning “paper streamers” in Spanish like the ones thrown during Carnival parties, Serpentina has twirls of color throughout due to its unique production method. Rather than spinning wool into yarn by machine and dyeing it in large batches afterwards, Serpentina is dyed before it’s spun and then spun by hand into colorful handspun. Each skein is its own true work of art and no two skeins will be exactly alike. If you’ve ever lusted after handspun yarn, now is your chance!
Serpentina will not pool or flash because of its handspun nature, though you should certainly alternate skeins if using more than one to evenly blend any differences. Pick your favorite pattern and let this yarn truly shine.
