The annual Miss Babs Trunk Show will be happening this weekend, September 10th and 11th! This trunk show will feature some brand new colors and bases as well and tried-and-true favorites. See a variety of samples and meet Babs herself. Please note the special hours on Sunday for the trunk show yarns.
We are so excited to announce a special screening of the Yarn! movie on September 15th at the AMC Hoffman in Alexandria. We have met our minimum threshold (yay!) and have just about a dozen tickets left. Tickets are $14 each and we’ll have a pre-movie gathering at the shop before we all meet at the theatre for a fun night of stitching!
Stephen West is indeed coming to space in September! While the Top-Down Shawl Workshop, meet-and-green and trunk show, both on September 17th, and his Two Color Brioche Workshop on September 18th are all sold out, you can always call the shop to be placed on the waitlist. We also added an additional session of each workshop (Top-Down Shawls and Two Color Brioche) in early October.
Take a stroll through historic Old Town from September 22nd-25th. Register here to secure your stylish tote that earns you discounts at all participating shops. Join us on Friday, September 23rd for the Short Beach Shawl Workshop with designer Kirsten Kapur from 11am-2pm, a Finger Puppet Bar with Mary Lou Egan (free!) from 3-5pm and Photographing Your Knits with Gale Zucker from 5-8pm. Also swing by the night before, September 22nd, for a book signing of the brand new Drop-Dead Easy Knits book by Kirsten Kapur and Mary Lou Egan, photographed by Gale Zucker.

Treat yourself to a new skill this back to school season with our Introduction to Knitting or Introduction to Crochet classes!
If you’re itching to try a particular accessory pattern but just want a little guidance, check out the Open Study Accessories class beginning on Monday, September 12. Bring you project and get help throughout the process from start to finish! $80.
The Entrelac Scarf – Purling Backwards course is a great intro to the technique of purling backwards (sure to speed up your knitting) all while learning the unique art of entrelac. This course begins on Saturday, September 17th and you have the option of knitting a scarf or wrap. $65.
Improve your lace skills with Intermediate Lace Shawl – Iolanthe class beginning on Tuesday, September 20th with designer Dee O’Keefe. $65.
Socks are a great portable project. Try your hand at knitting socks in the Top Down Socks Class. Class begins on Sunday, September 25th and you’ll be addicted to sock knitting before you know it! $80.
