Just in time for sweater season, Brooklyn Tweed knocks it out of the park with their Fall 16 collection, an amazing assortment of pullovers and cardigans (plus a hat) designed for both men and women and inspired by traditional menswear tailoring.
You’ll find no shapeless one-size-fits-some sweaters here – each design is thoughtfully rendered in both a men’s and a women’s version.
In some of the patterns, like Auster, the difference in construction and silhouette is striking – they even use different yarns. (Quick-knitting Quarry for her, woolly-warm Shelter for him.) I wonder if my husband will embrace us wearing matching sweaters…hmmm….
In others the variations are more subtle, as in the Icelandic-style Spearheads – a tweak to an armhole depth here, a bit of waist shaping there for a perfect fit.
Many of the patterns offer options for customization – want a cowl neck on the men’s Carver or a shawl collar on the women’s Tamarack? It’s written right into the pattern! (Carver even lets you create your own custom color by blending two shades of Loft!)
With designs in Loft, Shelter, and Quarry, there’s a sweater here for everyone on your list, including you! (Rhinebeck sweater, anyone?)
See the collection in person at the shop from November 12 – November 20 when we host the trunk show!
The Fall 16 patterns are available digitally through Ravelry in-store sales or directly from Brooklyn Tweed.
