New fall yarn from the Fibre Co – Cumbria

New fall yarn from the Fibre Co – Cumbria

We have just received the newest yarn from our friends at the Fibre Co, and it is AMAZING! Cumbria is a blend of brown wool from rare breed sheep of England (the masham sheep, which is a crossbreed between a Swaledale ewe and a rare breed ram called Teeswater) and fine South American Merino Wool and Argentine Mohair. These fibres are blended for a light brown finished yarn that is then dyed, making the resulting colors unique and stunning. This is a durable sweater yarn that will make garments to last a lifetime.

Yarn details:

  • 90% wool, 10% mohair
  • 238 yds/100 gram skein
  • 18-20 sts = 4 inches on US 6-8 needle
  • $22

And, of course, the team at Kelbourne Woolens has been hard at work putting together a stunning collection of patterns for this yarn. They are all available on Ravelry or through our Ravelry In-store sales.
