Something Special From Seattle

Something Special From Seattle

If you’re anything like us at the shop, you’ve developed a bit of a crush on all things Hazel Knits.  With dreamy colors and squishy soft yarns, what’s not to love?  Lucky for us, Hazel Knits has sent us quite the Mega Trunk Show – all available starting Wednesday!!  The trunk show features “Baby Cakes” and “Big Wheels.” The Big Wheels come with double, and sometimes triple the normal yardage, meaning even more yummy yarn to play with!1_1_1equals3

Hazel Knits “big wheels” are super unique and only available here in Cadence, Lively DK, Entice MCN, and Artisan Sock.  One big wheel is perfect for a large accessory or buy two or three for a dreamy sweater.

Cadence

With gorgeous stitch definition and squishy softness, Cadence is a wonderful 100% Superwash Merino worsted weight yarn perfect for dreamy sweaters or accessories and each Cadence big wheel comes with 600 yards per skein.  Pick up one skein for a shawl or wrap, like Dee O’Keefe’s Mitali Shawl.

Or, for the little one in your life, grab a big wheel for a gorgeous Lenny in any size.

If it’s a sweater for yourself that you’re dreaming of (I know I am!), In Stillness would be the perfect way to show off Hazel Knits’ beautiful colors!

Lively DK

With a blend of 90% Superwash Merino and 10% Nylon, Lively DK big wheels come with 825 yards of tightly plied goodness that is just so dreamy to knit with.  Pick up a couple big wheels for a Neon cardigan for a versatile knit perfect for layering.

Or grab a skein for a Palmyre in any Hazel Knit colorway.

Artisan Sock

With 800 yards of 90% Superwash Merino, 10% Nylon fingering weight yarn, the options really are endless!  Artisan Sock is a new one to the shop but with a nice tight twist and amazing stitch definition, my first thought immediately went to shawls, like the Mayapple.

For a cool, modern look try Merigold.  This fun sweater features buttons on the side and cables for a unique fit that is sure to please.

Entice MCN

With 70% Merino, 20% Cashmere, and 10% Nylon, Entice MCN is one of the softest yarns we have at the shop and comes with 800 yards in each big wheel!  Paired with Hazel Knits’ dreamy colors, you really can’t go wrong.  I love this yarn for a Hitofude to show off it’s great drape.

One skein is just the right amount for a gorgeous Welty and Entice MCN’s great drape will really show off the textures in this Stephen West shawl.

 Babycakes

If more yarn isn’t what you’re after, however, Hazel Knits also sent a variety of “Babycakes” – small skeins of Artisan Sock, perfect for color work projects or to add a little extra pop to any project. Each 50 yard mini skein is perfect for any pattern that needs just that touch of extra color.  My mind is already buzzing with possibilities but I’ll admit my first thought was Fine Tune.  I love the cowl but always though I needed to wait until I had the perfect combo of remnants to make the striped section.  Maybe I’ll just pick up a couple Babycakes and a big wheel of Artisan Sock instead!

Four Babycakes would be perfect to fill in the colors on a Hallow Moon crescent shawl!

Or let the Babycakes stand on their own with in a simple slouch hat like One Bad Ombre.
