Bulky Knits are in this season…and I am grateful

Thank goodness that we are past the fine gauge knitting phase that we went through a few years ago! I can now actually finish things AND they are “hot” according to the fashionistas. For the past few weeks, I worked on a baby blanket for a friend and this fab sweater in the new Erika Knight Maxi yarn. It is now a shop sample…The pattern is the “Cable Stitch Maxi Sweater” – one of the original designs by Erika Knight (available at the shop) as part of this new yarn launch. I have to say, it worked up insanely fast. For the most part, it is simple stockinette stitch with some occasional increases or decreases. I knitted both sleeves while catching up on crappy reality tv shows on the DVR. I think this would even be a great first sweater project. (some cabling required).

I have so many unfinished sweaters sitting around the house, that it was nice to be able to finish something for once. The sweater is on US#15 and #17 needles. AMAZING. The yarn was a delight to work with. And the color options on this yarn are rockin. Great neutrals and wonderful “pops of color.”

I am already plotting my next sweater project in this yarn. That purple shade is calling to me…
