Tweedy Saturday

Tweedy Saturday

Willow Tweed from Louisa Harding is one of those yarns that I simply had to knit when I saw it. The thin, speckled hanks come in a range of hues that have a shade of romance to them. Its unique fibre content makes it a tweed unlike any other, with a halo of alpaca, the glisten of silk, and the warmth of Merino wool.

Feeling inspired by this yarn, I wasted no time finding a project. I didn’t have to look further than Louisa Harding pattern books — her designs are feminine and classic. There is such a fantastic selection among her patterns that it was hard to choose, but I decided on the Saturday cardigan from the book Blue Monday.

This was a great pattern to fall into, with easily memorized increases and an eyelet and ruffle trim interesting enough to keep me going. Lesley generously offered some gorgeous, antique mother-of-pearl buttons for the finishing touch. Before I could finish seaming, I was already planning my next Louisa Harding project…
