I have decided that the Persephone / post it note is a huge fail and I am ripping out the silk section and will re-knit it in the main color. At this point, I can’t look at it and have left it in my cube to die. I started this project instead. It is a class that I am teaching this August. Since there is so much opportunity to modify the pattern, the class is likely to focus quite a bit on the math of adding different shaping to the waist and bust. I completely reworked the shaping on this thing. I decided to use a brown shade of Elsbeth Lavold Silky Wool (you are shocked, i know). It is intended to be worked on larger needles (using #7 on this sport weight yarn) for a drapey fabric. It is working up really lovely. I should be done this weekend and will post photos right away! Also, did you know that we will be getting a worsted weight version of this yarn?!
In the meantime, have you selected your yarn and color for our next knitalong? I am thinking Berroco Pure merino DK for a more wintery project. It is time to start thinking about fall and winter sweaters. I am also starting to ponder my holiday gifts…making a list of those that I intend to knit or crochet for and scoping out patterns. If I don’t start now, I will never get them done. I think people might be getting socks this year….hmm…I wonder if I should commit to knitting socks for other people. That seems sorta dangerous.
