but not sure what to do with it? Well, you can actually knit with roving. The Miss Babs roving that we have in the shop can be divided into thinner pieces and used to knit up quick and adorable projects. We were inspired to do just this when we saw the newest issue of Interweave Knits. The staff feature this month is scarves and they have provided several great scarf patterns available for free download on the website.
Kel worked up the Myopia scarf over the weekend in Miss Babs merino, color aubergine. Our version took 8 oz. of fibre and US#19 needles. (we swayed from the pattern a bit since it called for needles the size of baseball bats and a full pound of fibre….) We actually have US#19 needles in the store…despite the grumbles from one of my yarnista staff who disapproves greatly of needles over size #8. Maybe she has more time than the rest of us? I like knitting with giant needles! Its fast and satisfying..Kel’s scarf here took probably less than 2 hours to knit.
