I have already scrapped the baby sweater project. I got about an inch into it when I decided that I didn’t want to knit it. And it doesn’t help that the pattern is for a 3-6 month old which means that when the baby is born tomorrow, it won’t fit him until the weather is too hot for a baby sweater anyway. I am thinking a hoodied baby bunting sorta thingy but still working out the details. Also need to talk to the mom about colors and her preferences. She agreed that given the size, it wasn’t a good idea to knit right now. (and no, I am not going to modify the damn pattern).
Right now I am working on the Cherry Fizz scarf for a friend and Holly just sent out a newsletter that talked about the Hanami scarf from Pink Lemon Twist (seen above). And I really want to make it! It has a cherry blossom pattern to it..adorable! Why am I into these scarves right now? I have visions of having a variety of Spring weight scarves to wear around my neck for the next three months, but the reality is that I don’t finish scarves unless they are made from enourmous guage yarn. And besides, I have to knit the wrap for the wedding! I have an “in” with Alchemy who is working on getting three hanks of the Mica color for me, since no one appears to sell this online…silly Alchemy yarn.
