I am so excited to add another fantastic independent dyer to our line up: Fiberstory.
Fiberstory is the creation of dyer Sarah Freitas and is based in Detroit, Michigan! I met Sarah at the trade show in May after her booth stopped me dead in my tracks. It was STUNNING. Seeing all of her fabulous color all in one place was really wonderful. I knew that she would be a great fit for our shop.
Our first yarn from her is CORE DK. What can I say about this DK? Well, the colors are gorgeous! Rich and somewhat more muted than some of our other dyers, CORE DK comes in a variety of beautiful fall colors that are just ready to be knit. With it’s tightly twisted plies, this yarn will have excellent stitch definition, making it perfect for showing off more complicated patterns. At $25 for each 231 yard skein, I’m thinking a sweater would be amazing, especially one with a nice cable or lace motif to keep things interesting. But these colors are so gorgeous that even a great accessory like a cowl or hat would be stunning! Whatever you choose, Fiberstory CORE DK will be perfect!
Pattern Inspiration
Pick up 4-7 skeins for Joji Locatelli’s Looking Back. This adorable sweater features a stunning lace panel up the front of the sweater and, in a bit of a twist, a row of buttons down the back of the sweater. This sweater is just as cute from the front or the back!

More of an accessory knitter? No problem! Personally, I’m loving Martina Behm’s Naiada, a lacy asymmetrical triangle. It calls for just two skeins!

Fall weather means lots of cowls and I’m thinking two contrasting skeins would be lovely for a Duotone Cowl by Orange Flower Yarn. 1 skein of each color is all you need to get this striped beauty!

Hats are always a must and I’m thinking this yarn would really show off the texture in Whitman by Danielle Morgan. One skein is plenty and, best of all, this hat comes in a range of sizes from child to adult.

I’m really loving Thyone by Tori Gurbisz! This two-color cardigan uses just a little fair isle to make a simple layering piece into something special. Pick up 3- 7 skeins of the main color and 2-3 of the contrast color for this fun piece that’s just a little bit…edgier than your traditional cardigan.
