Classes
We’re super excited about our upcoming classes here at the shop! We’ve got skill-builders for beginners and challenges for those of you who are old-hands at stitching. Whether you’re looking to learn a new skill or expand your stitching horizons, we hope you join us for a class this Fall.

We’ve got workshops coming out of our ears this fall and we’re super excited about it! Join us for one of these wonde
Join local designer and Fair Isle master Tanis Gray for a workshop on designing fair isle – Sat. Sept 27 from 1-4 pm. You will learn everything from the history of Fair Isle knitting to techniques to work two handed Fair Isle, all while designing your own hat. All levels of knitter are welcome! Join Ann Weaver, another of our local favorites, for a two workshops this October. The first workshop helps guide knitters through the mysteries of knitting Circular Shawls – Oct 11 from 10 am to 2 pm You’ll learn how to cast on for a round shawl using a crochet cast-on; work on double-pointed needles for that small, awkward, beginning part; the formula for spacing increase rounds and how to tweak it; how to work simple lace patterns from charts and incorporate your own stitch patterns or pattern from stitch dictionaries; and how to work jogless stripes! The second workshop has Ann teaching us all how to master Color Theory – Sat. Oct 11 from 3-5 pm will help to expand the knitter’s color vocabulary and gain confidence in color combination choices as well as to teach modular knitting techniques like picking up and knitting stitches. This November we’re super excited to host Laura Nelkin for three exciting workshops!
On Friday November 7th from 3 pm to 6 pm come learn to Knit Jewlery! You will have a wonderful time playing with Laura, beads, and your knitting to create unique wearable knitted jewelry. In this comprehensive Knitted Jewelry workshop you will learn a variety of techniques that will help you incorporate beads, clasps and jewelry techniques into your knitting. (click here to register)
On Saturday November 8th from 10 am to 1 pm learn to Add Beads to Fingerless Mitts or a Tam! Learn one of Laura’s favorite designs from Knockout Knits. Both this bottom‑up tam and fingerless mitts play with a modified beaded Coin Stitch ribbing. Master this fun, easily memorizable stitch, in either the tam or mitts, or maybe even both! On Saturday November 8th from 2 pm to 5 pm join Laura and Learn to Knit Shawls with Beads! Laura and the class will help you pick yarn and beads, and then you’ll be ready to cast on for your shawl! This is an interactive and FUN class with lots of hands on learning. (click here to register)
