Our European suppliers are fully caught up from their August breaks, and we are now back in stock with our favorite workhorse yarns from Portugul! We are now restocked on the Rosários 4‘s Regata and Merino 4 Us – two of our favorite yarns for to go to for washable makes.
Regata is a DK weight, 100% cotton that is sustainably produced in a huge range of shades (we’ve got 25 new colors in stock!) from neutrals to brights. It’s ideal for baby items, home goods, and lightweight sweaters. The generous 299-yard put-up lets you complete big projects without a bunch of ends to weave in.
DK-weight Merino 4 Us is sustainably made from 100% washable Merino wool. Both soft and durable, it’s a great choice for baby and children’s garments and blankets. The 50-gram skeins and wide color range are perfect for mixing and matching colors for colorwork and stripes.

At this year’s big yarn trade show in Chicago, Linda and I walked into the Malabrigo Yarn booth knowing that we were going to bring this awesome Uruguayan & Peruvian brand back into the shop. When we saw their Caracol yarn hanging on display, we were SO excited. I will admit that I am not a big fan of single-ply bulky yarns—while they are amazing for quick makes and gifts, they generally pill a bit more than I would like since there’s nothing holding them together.
Caracol is made from a single thick-and-thin ply of machine-washable Merino wool, bound with a criss-crossing black (or white) binder thread that keeps the fibres together and gives the yarn a really cool look—we have been lovingly calling it the “bondage yarn”.

It might not be Friday anymore but we’re bending the rules for a FO Saturday in honor of Malabrigo Day! Danielle couldn’t resist stitching up this Oli Cardigan when Caracol arrived in space. This unique yarn is made of machine-washable Merino wool that’s bound with a black binder thread that holds it all together and gives it a really unique look. This new arrival from overseas is here just in time for Breast Cancer Awareness Month - Kokon Bleu has gone PINK!
Kokon founder Michelle du Plessis was diagnosed with breast cancer in 2019 and is supporting Pink Ribbon Netherlands with the profits of this special yarn. As you now, breast cancer has impacted our own fibre family, so this yarn project is extra special for us as well. This is a one-time delivery of these pink colorways her Fingering Weight Superwash, so be sure to grab your skein before it’s gone.
