De Rerum Natura Alice
De Rerum Natura Alice
Alice, the newest base from De Rerum Natura, is a light sport weight yarn blended with 75% Arles merino and 25% linen. It is worsted spun to increase the strength and softness of the fibers and twisted into three strands to create a balanced, round yarn that remains supple.
Alice can be knitted very tightly for durable socks without synthetic material or more loosely for sweaters and accessories that will enjoy the drape of the linen.
It can be knitted on its own for lightweight projects, but also doubled for durable, soft jumpers, or even doubled with Berenice mohair to play with textures and colors.
These colors are blended with the lighter reflections of the linen fibers, mixed more or less perfectly, creating small irregularities in the yarn like little pebbles found along the way.
Alice owes its name to the curious and kind heroine of Lewis Caroll's novels.
Alice yarn is spun and dyed in Italy with GOTS-certified dyes.
Yarn Details:
- 75% French Merino, 25% French/Belgian Linen
- Light Sport weight
- 236 yards (216 m) per 50 gram ball
-
22 to 25 = 4 inches on US#4-6 (3.5-4mm)
- Hand wash in warm (not hot) water with gentle soap. Lay fabric flat to air dry.
