The name Plaid Friday comes from the idea of weaving the individual threads of small businesses together to create a unique fabric that highlights the diversity and creativity of independent shops. The event was created in Oakland, California to transform the holiday season from a frenzied shopping experience to one that allows you to connect with friends, family and your community by supporting local business.
