It’s time for 2020 and time for a fresh start to the new year! The fibre space yarnistas are making plans for what projects and skills they want to tackle in the new year. To kick off a year of making and learning, we are hosting a knitalong on New Year’s Day. Gather up a few supplies and come in to make this snuggly shawl. We will show you how to get started and work eyelet increases, if they are new to you.
From the designer:
The Lindis Shawl is knitted top down. The body is knitted in stockinette stitch with a jagged line of eyelets. A small eyelet section separates the stockinette body from the garter border. This insert increases the stitchcount significantly, ensuring a large wingspan and good drape.
Due to the gauge it is a quick and easy knit that will not pose difficulties even for beginners. It is the ideal shawl to showcase a special yarn; it is worked best in a solid yarn (speckled or variagated yarns are not advised as this will obscure the eyelet line of the design).
ability to knit and purl and some experience reading a pattern.
