Join the amazing Betz White to learn embroidery techniques to enhance your handknits. Create a fun faux fair isle look by adding embroidered detail to knit stripes. Learn basic embroidery, compound stitches and techniques for stitching on knits with tapestry wool or yarn from your own stash.
Homework:
You will need something striped to embroider on! It can be a swatch (at least 8” x 8”), a sweater or accessory from your closet or second hand store. Please note: this technique can also be done on solid knits as well, if you’d prefer!
Class kit:
Pre-printed stabilizer, needle, practice scrap, handout. $4 per student added to teaching fee
Supplies needed for class:
- A sweater, swatch, or other item to work on
- Tapestry wool or colorfast stash yarn (worsted or sock weight)
- Scissors
