Brioche Clinic

Ready to dive into the lush world of brioche? This clinic will work through the basics of brioche knitting and develop our abilities to fix mistakes in this double-sided fabric, working our way to increasing and decreasing. Projects will cover brioche in the round and brioche worked flat.

Two 2-hour sessions meeting the same day each week

Skill level:

Students must know how to knit and purl and should have completed a project after their first scarf.

Choose your project based on your skill level:

Advanced beginner: Bundled in Brioche

Skills Needed:

  • knitting/purling
  • 1-2 projects after beginner classes

Materials:

Intermediate: Beginners Brioche Cowl

Skills Needed:

  • knitting/purling
  • Working in the round
  • 1-2 projects after beginner classes

Materials:

 

    Intermediate to Advanced: Harlow Hat

    Skills Needed:

    • knitting/purling
    • Working in the round
    • Increasing and decreasing
    • 1-2 projects after beginner classes

    Materials:

    • 2 contrast colors of Sport weight yarn
    • Recommended: Spincycle Dyed in the Wool and De Rerum Natura Ulysse
    • US 2 and US 3 Circular needles- 16”
    • Stitch markers
    • Copy of Harlow Hat pattern

    Advanced: Pop Patterns

    Materials:

    • 2 contrast colors of worsted or DK yarn for Pop Twizzle
    • US 7 Circular needles- 40”
    • 2 contrast colors of Sport for Pop Fizzle and Sizzle Pop
    • For hat: 16” & 40” US 6/4.0mm circular needle for magic loop method, or US 6/4.0mm DPN’s
    • For Shawl: 40” or longer US 4 / 3.5mm circular needle, or size needed to obtain gauge.
    • Copy of pattern

    Skills Needed:

    • knitting/purling
    • Working in the round
    • Comfort with increasing and decreasing
    • 1-2 projects after beginner classes
