Brioche and Tuck Stitch Adventure with Olga Buraya-Kefelian

Ever wondered about the differences and commonalities of Brioche and Tuck and how to work them? Join this special two session weekend workshop to learn these techniques while crafting KOYO hat with local designer Olga Buraya-Kefelian.

This bulky reversible hat knits up just in moments as you create this unique offset Stockinette and Honeycomb texture combination by working it either in brioche or tuck methods. This method allows for the knit fabric to compress, creating extra warmth! Fold the brim over to keep those ears extra toasty. Elasticity of the hat fabric proves its versatility with the great fit and flattering style, suiting everyone!

Skills needed: students need to know how to knit, purl, cast on, increase, decrease, knit in the round.

• Theory on Brioche and Tuck stitches
• Practicum on Brioche Stitch and Tuck Stitch, and their differences
• Decreasing in Brioche and Tuck
• Customizing and specificity of these stitches

The hat can be made either in solid color or in 2 colors.

For Short Hat:
MC/Strand 1: 60 (68, 75) yards / 55 (62, 69) m CC/Strand 2: 55 (62, 70) yards / 50 (57, 64) m

For Long Hat:
MC/Strand 1: 70 (80, 90) yards / 64 (73, 83) m CC/Strand 2: 60 (70, 80) yards / 55 (64, 73) m of any other Bulky weight yarn.

Suggested yarns: Spincycle Plump for the colorful version seen here or Pascuali Maximo for a more solid version. Olga will assist you in making your selection during our breakfast!
