2024 New Years Day Cast On Party

January 1 @ 11:00 am - 5:00 pm
Event Categories: ,
We have a New Years tradition here at fibre space – we start the year with selfish stitching. That’s right, after a hurried season of giving and gifting of ourselves and our skills for those in our lives that we hold dear, we settle down on January 1 and put ourselves first. We choose a pattern. We choose a yarn (something scrumptious, something soft, something that fills us with thoughts of luxury). We cast on with nary a care in sight. It’s fibre self care at its finest, and we invite you to join us either in person (we love to see people at the shop on New Years Day!) or from the comfort of your cozy couch as we venture into 2024.
This year we’ve selected a multi-level knit-a-long to allow you to join in with whatever size project calls your name – small or large. We’ve selected the Field Series of patterns by Camilla Vlad which offers a series of patterns that contain the same lovely motif of shafts of wheat against a knit background.

For the KAL, please join as we gauge swatch and practice the field stitch on starting January 1. As we will be knitting along for the entire month, we encourage you – particularly if you’re looking to knit one of the sweaters – to consider gathering your supplies ahead of time. Post your projects on Instagram using #FSNYKAL2024 so we can see everyone’s progress!

When you purchase your yarn with  us (both in store and online), be sure to let us know this is for the KAL, and we will include this notion pouch for free!
