We are really excited to see the latest Wool People from the team over at Brooklyn Tweed. The paper patterns won’t arrive in the shop for a couple more weeks, but you can already grab digital copies online! There are 17 designs in the collection, and here are my favorites – all of which can be done by even the newest knitter.

This is a top down raglan that would work wonderfully as your first sweater project (ranked 2 of 5 for difficulty) or a good television knitting project for those blazing hot summer nights. I imagine this would get a lot of use in the winter as a comfort sweater to curl up on the sofa with. It uses LOFT: (5, 6, 6, 7) (8, 8, 9, 9) skeins.

I love the opportunity to start playing with the 32 colors of LOFT and seeing what amazing color combos can be done with this simple striped hat. Despite it’s simplicity, it has unique details. It uses just two colors of fingering weight wool yarn in the following amounts: 130 yards of color A and 95 yards of color B.

Another simple project, the Biston uses Brooklyn Tweed LOFT and is a wonderful garment for year round wear. It pairs really well with a strapless dress or with a button down shirt and jeans. It uses 4 (4, 4, 5, 5) skeins.

Friend of the shop, Cirilia Rose, designed this adorable cowl worked in LOFT. It uses 3 colors and 4 total skeins of the yarn. This is the simplest of designs, allowing you to experiment with color and perhaps learn to knit in the round, if you haven’t tackled that yet!

I have to admit that this is my favorite. So many color combos await this pattern! It uses three colors of Loft and can be worked as a scarf or wrap.
So who will be the first to complete one of these and get their project on Ravelry!?
