Next week’s Stitching Survival Skills Wednesday will focus on the Turkish cast on. Drop by on Wednesday, May 31st from 6-6:45 for a free lesson!
Even if you couldn’t snag a spot in a workshop, be sure to stop by tonight, May 26th rom 6-8pm for a Stephen West book signing and trunk show! You can get your own copy of the Westknits Bestknits Shawls book signed and see samples of his designs, including his brand new Marled Magic Sweater just released today.

Join us for a summer of learning. We are offering a variety of workshops throughout the summer to help us improve our skillset. June will be focusing on Head to Toe, and be sure to read detailed descriptions of those workshops below. July will be focusing on crochet, with workshops in Tunisian Crochet (Parts 1 and 2), Arches cowl crochet lace and broomstick lace. August features a weekend with designer Ann Weaver. She’ll be offering her No-Sew Zipper workshop, Yipes Stripes workshop and Fair Isle for All workshop.
June’s Offerings:
Ready to take your sock knitting to the next level? The Sock Knitting Workshop on Saturday, June 3rd from 1-5pm will teach both new sock knitters and experienced sock knitters alike a variety of techniques for both top down and toe up socks. You’ll also learn about a variety of different heels and how to substitute them into your favorite sock pattern. $75.
Want to make well-fitting garments but don’t want to invest in a dress form? The Duct Tape Dress Form Workshop on Saturday, June 24th from 1-4pm will help you not only get accurate measurements, but also make your very own duct tape dress form customized specifically to you. $70.
Classes
Treat yourself to a new skill this spring with our Introduction to Knitting or Introduction to Crochet classes!
Move beyond scarves and other flat projects with the Beanie Hat class on Tuesday, May 30th. This is a great second class option that will get you well on your way to your first hat. $50.
The First Hat – Ribbed Beanie class is a great second course after completing the Intro to Knitting Course and gives you a versatile hat that can be styled a variety of ways. We have two upcoming sessions available starting on Thursday, June 1st and Sunday, June 4th. $65.
Inspired by the flora and fauna of the nearby Blue Ridge Mountains, the Culpeper shawl is a great intermediate lace project. Learn the techniques for this semi-circular shawl with a knitted on border from the designer herself in the Intermediate Lace Shawl – Culpeper class beginning on Monday, June 5th. $65.
Toe up socks are perfect for using up your entire skein. Learn this great technique by making a pair of thick worsted weight socks in the Beginner Socks from the Toe Up class starting on Monday, June 5th. $80.
Learn the fundamentals of stranded colorwork along with basic color theory in the Colorwork Hat class while making a stylish hat for the entire family. Class begins on Tuesday, June 6th. $50.
If you know the basic crochet stitches but are ready to expand your skill set, check out our Crochet Cowl class on Wednesday, June 7th. Create a cowl using the Granny Square Stitch that’s a fresh take on the traditional Granny Square. $40.
