What’s better than finally digging out from a blizzard? Neighborhood Fiber Co. Studio Worsted, of course!
We received a massive shipment this past week right before #blizzard2016 hit. (In fact, friends of Danielle’s unloaded it for her while she was flying solo at the shop on Friday!) Now it’s ready to be knit into all sorts of beautiful projects. Available in large skeins and a huge range of beautiful, saturated colors, this superwash yarn is perfect for a variety of projects! Additionally, the beautiful limited edition colorways have arrived in Studio Worsted as well. Project Ideas:
While the pattern possibilities are endless, here are some ideas from projects our yarnistas have knit up.
Danielle knit up the Lauren Sweater by Ann Weaver in the Rock Creek Park colorway. This asymmetrical sweater has a chunky cable that runs along the button band. The construction of the sweater makes adjusting ease in the bust area very easy, ensuring that it will look great on every body type, and the unexpected yet classic styling will fit nicely into any wardrobe.
Since Studio Worsted is superwash and oh so snuggly, it makes for great baby knits! Jillian knit Owen’s Blanket by Tanis Gray out of Georgetown. The simple lace repeat highlights the hand-dyed variation of the yarn. Due to the tight twist of the yarn, blankets will hold up well over time as the child grows. Be sure to check out Tanis’ other baby blanket patterns for more inspiration as well.
Trudy’s Saroyan by Liz Abinante out of the Rock Creek Park colorway (it’s definitely a favorite around the shop!) is fun scarf project that uses just one skein. The leaf edging provides some interest while the stockinette body of the shawl really highlights that yarn. Since the leaves are knit as you go, there’s no danger of running out of yarn for the edging.
In case you missed the Instagram post over the weekend, Denise is currently knitting Dark and Story by Thea Coleman out of Charles Village (and her project is entitled Bright and Sunny – exactly what we all need to combat a gray winter!). This casual cardigan features a beautiful cable panel up the back of the sweater and squishy shawl collar, perfect for lounging around the house in.
Arthella’s Honey Cowl by Antonia Shankland was knit using several colors of Studio Worsted, but would look equally fabulous is just one color. Limited edition variegated colorways Aurora Borealis and Aurora Australis would look phenomenal knit into a Honey Cowl due to the textured stitch used throughout. This is another perfect one skein project that knits up quickly.
