Sea Change Fibers Celilo Merino/Silk Fingering

Sea Change Fibers Celilo Merino/Silk Fingering

Founded in 2016 by hand dyer Sarah Pederson, Portland’s Sea Change Fibers is known for their vibrant tonal colors, sustainably hand dyed on natural fibre yarns sourced from climate-responsible producers. The company’s name reflects Sarah’s love of the Pacific Northwest coast, as well as their ongoing commitment to sustainability, climate health, and social justice.

Sea Change Fibers Celilo Merino/Silk Fingering yarn honors the history of the Columbia River’s Celilo Falls, once the oldest continuously inhabited community in North America. A major center of fishing and trade for the indigenous peoples of the Pacific Plateau for over 15,000 years, the falls and their surrounding settlements were submerged by the construction of The Dalles Dam in 1957.

A shimmering blend of ethically-sourced Eri silk and Falklands Merino wool, Celilo is a light and lofty fingering weight, with a 4-ply twist for stellar stitch definition and durability. Hand dyed in a glowing palette of tonal shades, Celilo’s next-to-skin softness and silky drape shine in lightweight garments and accessories to wear year-round. We especially love it for lace, cables, and colorwork!
