From a small town farm in Michigan, Mitchell Wool Co. began its yarn company in an effort to bring back American fibre production. This family-owned operation produces yarns from its flock of sheep and flocks of neighboring family-owned farms. We love that this yarn can be traced back to a community of farmers in Michigan, and that our purchase of this wool has a huge impact on American agriculture and wool production. The yarns are also plant-dyed and non-superwash for minimal impact on the environment.
.
We are so excited to be stocking Mitchell Wool’s sock yarn! This Rambouillet yarn has a hint of bamboo for strength and durability, without the addition of synthetics. Perfect for a colorwork sweater, a nice warm hat, and a comfy pair of socks – whatever you make with Mitchell Wool, you will be supporting family run operations right here in the US.
