Must Make Monday: Sauvie Vest in Woolfolk Strå

Must Make Monday: Sauvie Vest in Woolfolk Strå

The yarnistas always look for instant-gratification knits, and the recently released Sauvie fits that bill. A breezy, warm weather project that knits up quickly, Woolfolk’s Sauvie is a loose and airy vest knit in Woolfolk Strå.

Sauvie is knit top-down, beginning with the back panel and then joining the front shoulders by picking up stitches from the back and knitting until the base of the armholes. From there, each front side is joined with the back. Armhole and neck rims are picked up and worked in 1 x 1 rib. The front button bands are picked up and worked in double knit. The flattering scoop neck, vertical lines, and button band all create a classic, streamlined look.

Woolfolk Strå, a shop favorite, is a DK weight yarn that blends Woolfolk’s Ovis 21 Ultimate Merino® with Linen. The resulting fabric is a soft, breathable knit with just the right drape. Wear as a stand-alone tank with your favorite cut-off jeans shorts or a loose linen skirt to liven up your wardrobe basics during the summer. Or, toss it over a strappy sundress on an early fall night, or pair it over a shirt any time of year to show off your style and skills! Knit up in one of Woolfolk’s signature nuanced neutrals, the versatile Sauvie vest will quickly become a go-to item for all seasons.

Heather

A family friend taught Heather how to crochet when she was a child, and she taught herself how to knit about ten years later. She’s had a hook or needles in hand ever since. Heather makes whimsical amigurumi and blankets, but also makes socks, shawls, and sweaters to highlight gorgeous dyes and fibers. She’s excited to join the fibre space community and to help more folks tap into their creativity!
