Must Make Monday, Handmade Holidays edition: Churchmouse Basic Christmas Stockings

If you haven’t yet jumped into our Making Holidays Bright stitch-a-long, today we are highlighting another fun holiday decor make that might tempt you! (Remember: If you complete a holiday decor item by end of August, you will be entered to win a $250 gift card!)

When the yarnistas first saw those huge, color-saturated cakes of Noro Malvinas arrive last week, they immediately envisioned a gorgeous lineup of jewel-toned stockings on a mantle this December. This single-ply, Aran weight yarn is 100% Wool from the Faulkland Islands, and ideal for colorwork.

The Churchmouse Yarns and Teas Basic Christmas Stockings pattern has been the go-to for our team for quite awhile. From this core pattern, you can add stripes, embroider on names and other details, or insert a holiday fair isle pattern. You can also adjust length. The customization options are endless! Join us in Making Holidays Bright (and in time to use our makes) with Malvinas and this pattern that’s great for all levels of stitchers.

A family friend taught Heather how to crochet when she was a child, and she taught herself how to knit about ten years later. She’s had a hook or needles in hand ever since. Heather makes whimsical amigurumi and blankets, but also makes socks, shawls, and sweaters to highlight gorgeous dyes and fibers. She’s excited to join the fibre space community and to help more folks tap into their creativity!
