Revisit the Recycled Denim of Pascuali Re-Jeans

Revisit the Recycled Denim of Pascuali Re-Jeans

One of our favorite spring yarns returning to our store is Pascuali Re-Jeans. These bouncy balls of yarn are made from 95% cotton–but it is not just a cotton yarn. Re-jeans is made from recycled denim cotton, with its fibers coming from remnants of jeans fabric from the fashion industry in Italy. The eco-conscious company, Pascuali, dissolves these remnants, washes them down to the individual fibres, then re-blends and spins them into yarn in Portugal. The recycling process gives the yarn a beautifully rustic and appealing structure. Recycled cotton also gives the yarn an extremely soft hand, making it ideal for people with sensitive skin for whom wool is too prickly. It’s also machine washable! Best of all, Re-Jeans is easy and comfortable to work with because the thread does not split, as is often the case with “simple” cotton, making it ideal for knitting or crocheting.

Heather

A family friend taught Heather how to crochet when she was a child, and she taught herself how to knit about ten years later. She’s had a hook or needles in hand ever since. Heather makes whimsical amigurumi and blankets, but also makes socks, shawls, and sweaters to highlight gorgeous dyes and fibers. She’s excited to join the fibre space community and to help more folks tap into their creativity!
