Cherry blossoms and spring sun have us plotting out new projects, and the fresh arrival of Freia Solemates and Flux Socks is just what we need. If you’ve been catching on the same spring news as some of our yarnistas, you might have learned about the local maritime tradition of sock burning- gathering to burn last year’s socks to greet warm weather and freeing our feet until next winter. We don’t advocate burning hand-knits, but we absolutely support knitting up new socks- the perfect project for spring break travel, or early summer get-aways!
Yarn details:
This incredibly soft yarn comes in a set of two identical balls of Shaniko Merino fingering (228 yards each) to make the perfect matched gradient or striped socks. The cakes come packaged in a clear gift box as well.
- Three ply 100% US Shaniko mulesing-free Fingering Merino
- Machine was cold, tumble dry low (or dry flat)
- Two 50gram / 1.76 oz cakes: 416 meters/456 yards (total)
- 28 sts/36 rows over 4” on US3 (3.25mm) needles
