Today is the first day of Spring, and the yarnistas are starting to pick out their hot-weather projects. We are so excited to have a fresh delivery of Antigone in ALL the colors from De Rerum Natura of France.
If you’ve never played with this organic linen, this is the year to do it. Antigone was the first plant-based offering from shop favorite De Rerum Natura. Beautifully smooth and silky in the hand, Antigone works across a wide gauge – knit on finer needles for a standard fabric, or move up sizes to take advantage of the natural drape of linen.
Antigone is a linen that likes to be washed and worn! This yarn is machine washable on a delicate cycle, so all of your projects will only grow softer over time, aging beautifully with each wear.
We have a full range of colors back in space- including the newest colors. And to welcome all the new colors, we have a fresh batch of pattern inspiration for you.
Why is this linen special?
Antigone is a 100 % ecological linen. It is made from flax grown in Normandy by the Terre de lin cooperative as part of a project to return to ancient cultivation practices, aimed at preserving the soil and producing high-quality fibres without chemical inputs. These long fibres are wet-spun in Lithuania with great care to create a regular, soft and naturally shiny yarn. The yarn is then twisted and dyed in France in the Creuse region.
