Reared, Sheared, & Spun is the slogan of West Yorkshire Spinners in the UK. Founded in 1997, in the original home of the British worsted spinning industry, the brand sought to revitalize an industry during a turbulent time that saw many British spinning mills close. By 2012, the Spinners launched their own yarn out of heritage wool, Blueface Leicester, a champion British sheep breed. The business remains a family-run operation and prides itself on drawing generations of experience and knowledge. The West Yorkshire Spinners also ensure a supply of responsibly sourced fleece through the British Wool licensing scheme and are proud supporters of the Campaign For Wool, which raises awareness about the benefits of wool for people and the environment.

Croft DK
The Croft DK brings all the beauty, heritage, and colorful landscape of The Shetland Isles into a stunning yarn made with high-quality sustainable fleece from the region. Created in association with Jamieson & Smith, Croft DK brings heritage Shetland fleece to a yarn that is soft and strong. This hearty yarn works well with all types of projects from simple accessories to pullovers and vests festooned with intricate textures and cables. This yarn is also machine washable!!!
Available in a selection of solids and tweeds, Croft DK’s natural, vibrant, classic shades adorned with rustic flecks and beautiful fusions of color will be calling your name!

Signature 4ply & 4ply self-patterning
The superb Signature 4ply is made using a blend of wool that includes 35% Bluefaced Leicester for a luxurious feel, with a twist of nylon for added strength. This makes it ideal for projects such as hard-wearing socks, or stylish shawls with fantastic drape and softness. We have solid neutral colors and an amazing range of fair isle patterning colorways.
The wool has proudly won ‘Best Sock Yarn’ at the British Knitting and Crochet Awards for several years running.
Signature 4ply – Country Birds
The charming self-striping shades of the Signature 4ply Country Birds range take their beautiful colors from Britain’s favorite birds, including goldfinch, kingfisher, and owl. With all the excellent qualities of Signature 4ply’s durable yet sumptuous blend of 75% wool, which includes Bluefaced Leicester, this yarn has added nylon, ideal for making socks that last. Nature lovers can also combine the colorways with solid shades from the original Signature 4ply range to make all-weather shawls and scarves ideal for country walks among the birds.
