To say the Yarnistas are fans of Fair Isle Knitting is an understatement. When Caitlin Hunter released Autumn Alpine we immediately started plotting and planning. But it wasn’t until Quince & Co. Chickadee landed in space earlier this month that this sweater moved to the tops of our collective knitting lists. The deep folk flower pattern on the yoke gives a modern update to a traditional pattern. And the sport weight gauge makes this sweater wearable from fall through to Spring in our temperate Mid-Atlantic region. Combined with the crisp clean stitches and brilliant colors of Chickadee, we think this sweater will make a handmade classic that we’ll reach for every fall in years to come.
