Yarn guide for the Field Guide No. 24: Spark!

Modern Daily Field Guides have been some of our favorite pattern collections, and their latest issue may be the best yet.

Field Guide 24: SPARK features a collection of five brand new designs from local designer and longtime space friend Olga Buraya-Kefelian! From the designer herself:

“Field Guide 24: SPARK was designed as a showcase using my most favorite techniques and concepts, 3D knitwear, modular knitting with negative space, and transformable garments. Yet making them easily accessible from beginner to intermediate knitters to craft and wear with joy!”

Join us on Friday, June 16 to celebrate the launch of this collection, view the trunk show, and enjoy nibbles and drinks with Olga and the team.

We have a preview of the patterns and a yarn guide below to spark your own projects:

Tendril Necklace

This necklace is a great way to turn special yarns into a gorgeous statement piece. The i-cord tie gives a beautiful finished look for this cleverly constructed accessory. Adaptable for any gauge yarn, we’re looking at some of our most fun colors and textures.

Yarn suggestions:

Fortune Teller Cuff

We are obsessed with Olga’s architectural style, and the sculpted look of these cuffs. This is a great way to test out 3-D knitting techniques.

Yarn Suggestions:

Paragon Popover

Olga has loves playing with space in her designs, and this poncho wrap is a great example. Play around with size and building your own piece.

Yarn Suggestions:

Turnstile Wrap

The versatility of this piece will keep it in your regular rotation all year round. Perfect in any season (or frozen office), and any occasion.

Yarn Suggestions:

Penrose Tote

We love a classic tote bag. We love it even more with a chic pattern stitched in.
