Workhorse Wednesday: Ultra Wool DK

Berroco’s 100% superwash wool is now available in a lighter weight! The worsted version has been a shop favorite for years, and now you can get it at fibre space in a DK.

Yarn details:

  • 100% superwash wool
  • 3.5 oz / 100 g
  • 292 yards
  • Knit gauge: 5.75 sts = 1″, 23 sts x 30 rows = 4″ (10cm) on 6 (US) / 4 mm
  • Crochet gauge: 4.5 sc = 1″, 18 sc x 22 rows = 4″ (10cm) on 7 (US) / 4.5 mm
  • For best results, place into a mesh wash bag, machine wash in cold water on delicate cycle. Tumble dry on low.

  • Berroco Ultra Wool DK (100% superwash wool; 292yds/100g).
    C1: Snow 1(1,1,1,1,1,1,1,1) skein
    C2: Sunflower 4(4,4,5,5,6,6,6,7) skeins
  • US 6 (4mm) & US 7 (4.5mm)

  • 32″ circular needle, size 5 (3.75 mm) or size to obtain gauge

Honeycomb Sweater

Materials for sizes XS, S, M, L, XL and XXL: bust 81, 91, 101.5, 111.5, 122 and 132 cm

  • Approximately (XS) 1000 m, (S)1020 m, (M) 1060 m, (L) 1090, (XL) 1130 m, (XXL) 1180 m, (XXXL)1240 m of DK yarn (size 3). Sample used Berroco, Ultra Wool DK, 100% superwash wool in color Butternut.
  • 4.5 mm or size needed to meet gauge; and 4 mm and 3.5 mm for the ribbed edges.
  • NOTIONS: 3 stitch markers (or scraps of yarn) and a tapestry needle.

  • 1 (1, 2, 2, 2) balls each #83158 Rosemary (MC) and #8301 Cream (CC)
  • 24″ circular knitting needles, sizes 4 (3.50 mm) and 6 (4.00 mm) or size to obtain gauge
  • 1 set (4) each double-pointed needles, sizes 4 (3.50 mm) and 6 (4.00 mm)
  • 4 stitch markers (1 a different color for beg-of-round)
